CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) and CareFirst BlueChoice, Inc. (CareFirst BlueChoice) offer half-day seminars and half-hour webinars designed to familiarize professional providers and office staff with CareFirst policy and provider oriented procedures. We are especially excited about our newest seminar, Basics & Updates. Our seminars and webinars are designed to appeal to the needs of our versatile provider community. A brief description and its identification code to assist in the selection of the appropriate educational session specific to your needs and requests are listed below:
- (B&U) - Basics & Updates - this new seminar has a fresh new look and is designed to introduce to professional providers CareFirst's full portfolio of products, claims submission procedures, coordination of benefits, administrative policies, quality improvement, and the latest information on BlueCard. The seminar will end with CareFirst updates and changes making this seminar an excellent "new provider staff" or "provider refresher" tool.
- {Migration} - this seminar is a special learning session for providers practicing in the southern Maryland area designed to assist in the understanding of the CareFirst Migration of members to the NASCO system.
- Webinars - A Web Based Training - designed to present CareFirst policies and procedures to professional and institutional providers, within the comforts of their own office workspace. These seminars will be one half hour long, but participants should allow for log on and instruction time. After enrolling, you will receive instructions 1 day prior to the presentation date via email. There are several webinar types being offered:
- Blue Choice - BlueChoice policies and a review of referrals and authorizations.
- MPOS - Maryland Point of Service - explanation of product and review of referrals and authorizations.
- CareFirst Direct - Perform eligibility and benefits for local and out-of-area members.
- Professional Specialty: PT/OT/ST/Chiro, OB/Gyn and Anesthesia and Sub/Mtl - information specific to these specialties.
- CDH - Consumer Directed Healthcare. - product information.
- FEP - 2010 FEP Benefit Updates
- RealMed New Capabilities - Learn more about how CareFirst has teamed with RealMed to provide enchanced electronic capabilites to participating CareFirst providers.
Webinars are CareFirst Quality Rewards qualitfied web-based office staff training modules.
To enroll in a seminar or webinar as a professional provider (If you are a hospital/ancillary provider, please go back to the previous screen and click on "Institutional" seminars so your enrollment will reflect your correct specialty.)
